Ever since I was little, I’ve dreamed of having my own business. At just 7 years old, I started my first venture—buying, fixing, and reselling items under the name “Caelan’s Restorations and Repairs.” I didn’t even fully understand what those words meant at the time! My very first “restoration” was an espresso maker, and maybe that’s where my love for coffee began. Though my early efforts didn’t take me far (broken printers were way too complicated), they fueled my passion for creating something of my own.

By the time I was 11, I had moved on to repairing and selling lawnmowers. I managed to fix and sell one, which taught me a lot about the dedication it takes to run a business.

Now, at 15, I have a clearer vision of what it takes to build a small business that can help me save for the future. After exploring different ideas, I found my passion in coffee roasting. With the guidance of one of my dad’s friends, I built my first home roaster, and with the support of my principal, I sourced my first batch of green beans. I started roasting in the Spring of 2024, and since then, I’ve expanded my setup to include two roasters, a website, and a growing inventory of green beans ready to be transformed.
